Brodgar Cottage has two bedrooms and sleeps up to four adults. It has a welcoming open plan living room and kitchen, with panoramic views of the surrounding lochs and countryside.
The master bedroom is spacious with a king size bed and en-suite shower room, WC and wash-hand basin. The second bedroom comes with a double bed, and has an adjacent bathroom with shower over the bath, WC and wash-hand basin.
The kitchen is well equipped and is stocked with a selection of essential items, such as instant & ground coffee, tea, sugar, olive oil, vinegar, salt & pepper.
You can buy basic groceries from the small local shop in Stenness village, alternatively travel to Stromness or Kirkwall for supermarket shopping. Orkney also benefits from several wonderful small independent grocers and delicatessens - Kirkness & Gorie.
At the entrance to the cottage there is a small walled patio area, and a secure store for bicycles, fishing gear, short canoe, surf board etc.
There is parking for one car close by, and another one on the grassed area at the other side of the property. [See parking plan.]
Facilities
All bed linen towels are provided. No smoking inside cottage.
Cleaning is done to a high standard, and sanitised as per COVID guidance.
Please note that there is no gate to the garden, and consequently there is easy access on to the public road. The nature of the buildings and the surrounding land and road means that the cottage is therefore not well suited for vulnerable adults or children under the age of 16 without appropriate adult supervision. The owner and manager of Brodgar accepts no responsibility for any accident when exiting the premises on to the single track road.
